Animal Chiropractic
What is Animal Chiropractic?
Animals are deeply impacted and tremendously benefited by Chiropractic work.  Every animal in your life from good ol’ Fido to your working horse can greatly gain from chiropractic care.  We as owners, riders, and trainers ask our animals both working and play to do amazing things for us.  Whether it be racing around barrels, running after a Frisbee, or jumping over hurdles in the performance arena our animals show great courage and trust in whatever their job.  Chiropractic care is one great way to keep them at the top of their game.  Chiropractic increases the performance of the animal by allowing a freedom of structure and energy which promotes improved biomechanics, greater movement, and clarity in awareness.  Many animals accumulate repetitive stress which can lead to injuries and complications down the road.  Some examples include: navicular syndrome, ring bone, loss of bowel and bladder function, premature arthritis, and paralysis.

Chriopractic promotes preventative care for you animal to keep them healthy and fully functioning throughout their lifetime.

Chiropractic care is not a substitute for veterinary medicine although when used in combination can provide your animal with the best possible health.  While traditional veterinary medicine treats injuries, symptomatology, and lameness, chiropractic seeks out to correct biomechanical errors, subluxation, and energetic loads.  Animal chiropractic differs from pure allopathic philosophy that treats symptoms, often separating and isolating those symptoms from the entire health paradigm of the client.

Chiropractic is an integral part of the holistic trend in animal health care.  A holistic philosophy stresses the integration of all the external and internal influences on the organism in the study of health and disease.  Holistic therapies are designed to intervene at the appropriate level and to work with, not against, the inborn homeostasis of the organism.  Chiropractic offers tremendous potential in animal health care.  It belongs in the health care spectrum along with medicine, surgery, acupuncture, homeopathy and other such modalities.  Chiropractic care does not pretend to encompass the entire study of health and disease, but it does offer alternative explanations for disease and provides complementary therapy.  The foundations of chiropractic philosophy are based on the intimate relationship of the spinal column to the nervous system, as well as the role of the spinal column in biomechanics and movement.
