Clayton Sullwold, D.C. has been practicing at the Café of Life since October of 2007.  He is passionate about enhancing the lives of people of all ages, from just days old to those later on in their years.  Clayton has extensively studied the work of Bio-Geometric Integration for many years and has a deep understanding of the subtle energy systems of the body.  He is passionate about serving chiropractic locally and throughout the world.  He has served internationally through Adjustworld, a nonprofit chiropractic organization dedicated to bringing health and healing to various countries all over the world.  Serving on trips to Central and South America, Clayton enjoys sharing the message of chiropractic with people everywhere.  In addition, he has studied animal chiropractic and is certified through both the Options for Animals and the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association as a Certified Animal Chiropractor.

   

Petra Gill, D.C. Originally from Austria, Petra has been living and practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area at a chiropractic office known for working with athletes from the 49ers, Giants, Raiders, and Diamondbacks. A large part of her practice and passion in California was working with animals, especially horses. She is a certified animal chiropractor with the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. In addition Petra is currently completing a 250+ hours of post-doctoral education in Chiropractic Neurology. This advanced training has deepened her understanding and awareness of the profound neurological effects of the chiropractic adjustment. In her free time Petra loves to ride and is looking forward to exploring Durango on horseback. She also enjoys biking, hiking, and swimming.

   

Jay Komarek, D.C. has been in family practice for over 30 years.  The focus of the care he has been delivering in that time centers on restoring mental, emotional and physical well-being in order to optimize human potential.  He has had the opportunity to take care of thousands of people and animals during his career, and is privileged to witness the benefits of chiropractic among thousands.  Jay has been adjusting animals since 1977. He has worked with veterinarians around the country providing care for equine, canine and feline clients. He has provided care for thousands of animals and has been featured on the "Today Show", radio, and in numerous magazine articles.  In addition to delivering care to his clients, Jay teaches both human and animal adjusting at chiropractic colleges around the country and speaks to groups on natural health care.  He is a founding father of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

   

Paula Mallett has been a resident of Durango for the past 45 years.  She grew up here as a child and has raised a family with her husband of 30 years; Chuck.  Presently she feels fortunate to play with her grandchildren and watch them grow up here as well.  Staying close to family and community is important to Paula, and joining the Café of Life family has been wonderful.  To connect with many outstanding people with interests in optimizing health and well-being is and inspiration, joy, and continued source of learning.  In her free time Paula continues to enjoy family and friends, reading, gardening, walking, camping, rafting and travel.

   

Elise Fabricant, CMT. Having returned to Durango from two years exploration of the West Coast, Elise is excited to be at the Café of Life! Elise has worn many hats, including Artist, Farmer, Nanny, Chef, Birth Assistant, Zen Buddhist Monk and currently Massage Therapist. Her other passion is introducing students to the bliss and balm of yoga. Elise is in her sixth year of teaching yoga and teaches classes on Thursday nights at the Café of Life! When not teaching or practicing yoga, Elise can be found fixing up her house and yard, reading, fire dancing, hiking in the mountains or relaxing with friends.
